STYLO MATCHMAKERS LEGEND: FOOTBALL BOOTS WORN BY LEEDS UNITED

LEEDS UNITED – A LOOK THROUGH THE YEARS WEARING STYLO MATCHMAKERS

leeds united football bootsUnder the all-time great football managers Don Revie, Brian Clough and Jimmy Armfield, Leeds United were going to be as successful as they ever became wearing Stylo Matchmakers branded football boots.  Revie was the first to bring local company Stylo to Leeds United legend Bobby Collins to wear and when Bobby wore them they all wanted them. Here is Don getting hands-on with the Stylo Matchmakers marketing shooting Collins in his matchmakers back in 1966.

leeds united football bootsWearing Stylo Matchmakers, Leeds United teams dominated the seventies winning the English league title twice, the FA Cup once, the League Cup once and the Inter-Cities Fairs Cup twice. As well as finishing as finalists in the European Cup Winners Cup 1973 and the European Cup 1975.  After Leeds had celebrated their huge successes prior to 1974 with Don Revie, Brian Clough took over for a notorious 44 days. After Clough’s failings anagermanager Armfield moved in continuing the Stylo Matchmakers / Leeds boot partnership.  In the years to follow, super Bobby Collins returns as Junior coach, with all the Leeds United Juniors sporting a pair.
